Trail – Vietnam to China

Hanoi – Beijing The train is a great way to get to Beijing with Vietnam Railways: http://www.vr.com.vn/English/ .  Some incredible backdrops, or mountains, hills and cities. Trail – Cambodia to Vietnam

Phnom Penh – Ho Chi Minh – Hanoi The most popular way to get to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) on this well travelled route is by coach with one of the many operators.  King and Narin are two budget companies ($5-6) or Mekong Express is the faster more luxurious option ($15).  They even do the visa processing for you with the Express bus. Trail – Thailand to Cambodia

Bangkok – Siem Reap – Phnom Penh This route is notorious for scams.  Ignore touts before or on the route and follow the guideleines.  Khao San Road and Siem Reap are full of minibuses offering the journey for next to nothing.  Ignore them. If you go by train, two depart daily from Hualamphong Station in Bangkok to Aranyaprathet  on the Thai side of the border with Cambodia.
