Singapore

I had a lot of preconceived notions about Singapore, all of which were complete nonsense.  Upon arriving I stayed at 98SG Hostel which I can highly recommend.  The manager Kay seems a little crabby at first but if you actually take the time to talk with her she turns out to be a genuine sweetheart.  The place includes free wifi and breakfast.
