Doggy Style

My feature of this blog should be the nationwide Water festival known as Song Kran.  However, it is a couple of dogs having sex.  Look at the photo and tell me if you’ve ever seen anything like it. Riding my bike I spotted the two dogs in this position, and assumed they were either twins joined at the anus or had somehow got themselves entangled, so I stopped. On closer inspection I could see their reproductive organs were entwined, and somehow they’d switched from traditional doggy style to I guess       …..More Crumbs >>

The 80’s

What year is it?  Where am I! I’ve just realized I’ve been miraculously transported back to the eighties.  Where mullets and Mohawks are in fashion, male popstars are wearing makeup and a packet of crisps costs 10p. Do you remember when everything was affordable?  Sure, most people earn more money nowadays but our purchasing power has dropped dramatically.  A loaf of bread costs 8 times what it did in the 80’s, the movies 10 times more expensive, but my wage certainly hasn’t gone up so much. James doesn’t get it………. Many of the Thai people I meet here don’t commit, but neither do I, which makes organizing anything incredibly difficult.  My desperate need for structure forces me to eventually make my own plans.  However, this is met with sudden intervention from my many Thai mother’s to ensure that they are meeting my needs.  Of course I know this an unrequited act of kindness, yet it instinctively strikes a nerve with my independence. I also can’t handle being summoned at the last minute.  Nothing is compulsory or       …..More Crumbs >>

Thai Party

After the ceremony the party began.  There was a fair bit of drinking done, and a little boisterousness, but compared to a British party, it was well mannered.  Whilst the men and women mixed somewhat at the tables, it was still mostly segregated.  Being the only Farang, I’ll always be somewhat of a novelty, and was constantly beckoned to the men’s table where most of the drinking was being done.    I had to be quite forceful to stop the men pouring me more drinks, and dragging me to the dancefloor       …..More Crumbs >>
