I’m, leaving on a freight train, don’t know when I’ll be back again………

I decided to take a deserved break after my job contract finished, to actually see a bit of this country before heading back to England. Ironically I first heard this song in Denver, Colorado where it remains popular except he sings about leaving on a jet plane.  I had read about the great rail network they have in the states and wanted to give it a try. Uncle Sam

I grew up probably like most Brits with a knowledge of America being our friendly big brother, a country of unparalleled wealth and much better weather. Not once did I question why or how the population spoke a strange dialect of my native English. Frisco

San Fransisco, or Frisco as it’s known to the locals is the shit.  It da bomb baby, probably my favourite city in the world. During the most intense week of my life at a self help course in California, I met a man who pushed every one of my known buttons and also the unknown ones.
